Coen Brothers

I am currently reading a book called The Coen Brothers by Ronald Bergan. The book isn't fantastic, but there is enough interesting information to make it worthwhile. I wish there were more insights and less filler. In any case, the book has inspired me to add some of their films that I have not yet seen to my Blockbuster online list.

Raising Arizona has been a favorite movie of mine since I was a kid. Do you have a favorite Coen film?

The Big Lebowski. Must see a few times to fully appreciate it.

O Brother, Where Art Thou.

My children just watched it with the hubby and I a few weeks ago. I love introducing them to films we love (the PG ones - though my daughter, who'll be going into 10th grade in the fall, is now moving up to some of the R- rated dramas - like Crash).

Also, I love the soundtrack for O Brother - I play "Man of Constant Sorrow" all the time

The Coen's first film Blood Simple is a MUST see.

And, yeah, The Big Lebowski is priceless...

I have seen The Big Lebowski once. I enjoyed it, but it didn't zoom to the top of my favorites list. I have it on my Blockbuster list so I can watch it again and possibly gain a greater appreciation.

I haven't seen "Blood Simple" or "Hudsucker Proxy", but they are on the list, too.

O Brother, Where Art Thou was great! It is one of my hubby's favorite movies. And we, too, have the soundtrack. The music is fantastic!

Speaking of watching movies with your kids... I was so excited to introduce my (almost) 15 year old daughter to Raising Arizon. We had just finished watching the scene in which Hi steals the diapers and she looks at me blankly and askes when it was going to get funny. UGH!

Lebowki, Lebowski, Lebowski.

ARIZONA was my most quoted movie touchstone for almost a decade.

Until Lebowski.
