Empty

The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it. - Dee Hock

I am suffering from writer's block. I have started three projects and I am stuck on every single one of them. Ugh! I hope I can work through this or that it will just magically pass.

Just for fun, let yourself write the corniest, worst possible version of a scene for one of your projects. Or, just allow yourself to write the "bad version" of a scene you need written. Both are good ways to Roto-Rooter the writer's brain. :)

That is my specialty (haha). Seriously, thank you for the suggestion. I will definitely give it a try!

I have been feeling down lately. I have begun to wonder if I will ever have what it takes to write a great screenplay. I have actually gone back and read some of the encouraging emails you sent me. It helps a lot. Thanks for being a mentor! :)

Hey Annabel. I wish I had some words of wisdom for you. I hope things are going better. I'm in a similar spot. I'm trying to muscle through a rough spot myself.

Thanks and good luck to you, too!

Write from the heart. Write from personal experience. Apply your imagination to your reality if you have to, but base it on people and experiences that have touched or move you. Write to please yourself first.

Thanks for the advice and encouragement, Tom! I appreciate it!

I have actually had a bit of a breakthrough and I am working on a treatment for a new feature. Wish me luck :)
